New Year's Eve and it's hard to believe
another zodiac has gone around.

While you drank yourself high on hoping
and watched the ceiling spin from the ground.

Counting down from ten it's time
to make your annual prayer.

Secret santa in the sky
when will I get my share?

Then you tell yourself
what you want to hear.

Cause you have to believe.

This will be my year.

This will be my year...Semisonic

Lest it seem that Wednesday was all doom and gloom...

I was sitting in my office going over footage with my intern when I heard
The Lemonheads cover of "Mrs. Robinson" playing on a monitor in the hallway.
Knowing that they were set to VH1 Classic (based on the number of songs I
kept hearing that were circa the late '80's early '90s all day)...I asked
him to go see what the channel number was.

He actually ran there and back! I didn't tell him or ask him to run lest
anyone think I am an abuser of interns. I turned on my television PLUS in
the process I managed to eliminate the weird error message that's been stuck
on the screen for two months (great thing number two!).

We took a break and watched my dear dear former boyfriend Evan singing on a
boat/gondola ala Madonna "Like a Virgin".

Am I the only one who thinks that Dave Ryan (drummer) looks a wee bit like
Adam S. in that video?

My intern had never heard of Evan Dando nor had he ever heard of The
Lemonheads. I'd act shocked but these are things that I've come to accept
as a result of my increased exposure to people born after 1980.

I will say that he was very receptive to my explanation about who they were
and Evan Dando's legacy.

I think I am going to watch my VHS of "Two Weeks in Australia" this weekend
just to spend some time looking at them all.
