Little Squaw: Where a good girl goes to rant.
Long time no Squaw. Thursday, July 01, 2004It's July already! I think we've owned our house for a year, pretty exciting when I think about it.Gilly's at a Yankee game with the HEAD OF HR. My husband is so loved that he gets invited to a Yankee game by the HEAD OF HR!!! Mind you he also busts the Head of HR for being a Red Sox Fan. I think he lives in a vastly different world than I. Today someone had the nerve to yell at me about "my friend's need to return emails" and while I calmly explained that this was a conversation that said person should be having with my friend, who also happens to be Loki...well that lit a flame and she slammed the phone down. Slammed it down! The "someone" in question who I'll call "Red" is a very sad and bitter girl. I had to walk out of the building for fear of slamming her head into her desk. I know that sounds "awkward" but don't dare start throwing around the fact that I happen to be "friends" with someone that I work with. I know she was thinking that just because she's not friends with someone that they shouldn't not help her immediately (which is what I think is her perception of my relationship with Loki)...Loki and I are friends hence Loki helps me faster. How about I actually call Loki instead of relying on email? How about I am not a snapping turtle to everyone I work with and then expect them to jump when I say "JUMP!" How about she accept the fact that when you're rude to people you get sent to the back of the line? So Loki, if you're reading this, "YOU ROCK!" and sadly, Red is an bittered mud blood who is neither sparkly nor as wry as us. Plus she also informed me yesterday that I was wrong to buy one of my co-workers "pink" outfits for their soon to be born daughter. Apparently, "some people don't like to be bought pink for girls." Whatever dude. FYI...the outfits went very well and she should know that the idea behind giving a gift is it's the thought that counts. If they didn't like the gift I'd have taken no offence at it being returned. I just wanted to give them a gift to show them that I cared. BAH! So tomorrow we're going to the fair and Gilly and I are going to reinact the ending of Grease (I've got my black spandex pants and chunky slides all ready)...and yeah, then we're going to watch Fountains of Wayne perform on the Bennigan's stage. Is it going to be "Leave the Biker" or "Stacy Who?" I am thinking pink. How'd I recover from my day? I watched the lightning split the sky in two, went and returned a pair of silver shoes and bought a straightening iron which makes perfect sense since I have perfectly straight hair. posted by JustKeepMum on 10:27 PM | ||
