New Year's Eve and it's hard to believe
another zodiac has gone around.

While you drank yourself high on hoping
and watched the ceiling spin from the ground.

Counting down from ten it's time
to make your annual prayer.

Secret santa in the sky
when will I get my share?

Then you tell yourself
what you want to hear.

Cause you have to believe.

This will be my year.

This will be my year...Semisonic

I am unable to blog as I would like because the battery of the digital camera ran out and I can't pull all the nesc. photos off of it.

So I'll go free form.

One confession. I like Matchbox 20. I know that this is wrong for all sorts of reasons but this like cannot be stopped. I like them mostly because they were part of the first day of my first internship. They had a big time record deal at the biggest big time label of all but when I was an intern and they had no idea who I was but they shook everyone's hands and acted like polite boys and ate the same pizza as the rest of us.

Sometimes I need dull lonely boy pop rock and they fill that need perfectly.

I once almost got into a fist fight at a Matchbox 20 show. That's pretty flippin impressive considering their fan bass. I used the phrase, "If you step on me one more fucking time I am going to punch you in the fucking face." It was quite exciting. The girl weighted a good 50 or more pounds than me and she backed down. I can be fierce. And Gill was too far away to hear exactly what was being said and even further away to stop anything from happening.

I saw Pulp and PJ Harvey in that venue later in life. I love Jarvis Cocker in the only way a girl can love a snotty British school boy with bad teeth and a sexy voice.

I have never actually been in a "real" fight with a person girl or boy. Real meaning physical. Mental and verbal yes, hands and fists no.

For some reason this picture makes me smile...(It's a billboard is located outside of the Lincoln Tunnel)
