Little Squaw: Where a good girl goes to rant.
Long time no Squaw. Wednesday, May 12, 2004I think I peaked with the discovery of the new Fountains of Wayne dates this morning because my day just went downhill from there. But there's excitement and drama after my meeting schedule. Meeting Schedule: 9:30-10:00AM - Impromptu MA Client Fulfillment Meeting 10:00AM-10:30AM - MA Budget Meeting 11:30AM-12:00PM - Impromptu C/L web banner meeting. 12PM-1:30PM - Managers Meeting 1:00PM-2:00PM - Beach House Meeting (don't ask how I have meetings at the same time it's a pick your poison deal) 2:00PM-3:00PM - SVP Weekly 3:00PM-3:15PM - Meeting to look over VMA promotion artwork concept 3:15PM-3:30PM - Meeting to approve final MA :20/:10 tune-in spot 3:30PM-4:00PM - Meeting to go over C/L email blast artwork 4:00PM-5:00PM - MA Weekly 5:00PM-6:00PM - Conference call with LA Office/San Antonio Affiliate to discuss potential C/L partnership 6:00PM RUN RUN RUN to the bus. If you've made it this far you may find what I did when I got off the bus amusing. Our internal vendor screwed us on a shipment of movies. Meaning that they never delivered and they need to go out tomorrow. So they told us, "They'll be messengered from Jersey first thing in the morning." and I said, "Forget it. Cancel the order. We can't take anyone's word at this point. They've all lied to us." Enter emergency mode. We left the office with a list of films and the goal to each purchase 75. UGH. So I go to Best Buy and knock it out. Only to be told that I can only purchase three of each movie. Apparently it's to prevent them from running out of stock. Ummmm, isn't the point to sell things??? So what's the harm in them running out??? I know. I know. They need to always appear to have everything in stock so that you'll always go there. BUT...There was still plenty of inventory of every film I was purchasing even if I got what I wanted. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. I couldn't rant at the kid ringing me up. It wasn't his fault and who can scream at a teenager who looks like Seth Green and is just trying to earn some do ray me??? That would just be wrong. I get sent to a supervisor and someone start screaming, "YOU CAN'T GO THERE!!! SHE'S CLOSED!!!" Again with ththe screaming after the gas station they are lucky my mace was in the car...when I explained that I needed to speak to a supervisor they didn't even apologize for the rudeness. So I get to the girl, explain who I work for and what I needed to do. She doesn't even look me in the eye and tells me it's store policy and then I tell her that my co-worker just purchased massive quantities of films (forget the three limit) at one of their Long Island stores. Still the witch doesn't even acknowledge me. I immediately get on the phone with Gill and rant. He of course listens to me. We now hate hate hate Best Buy. They are dead to us. Luckily there's a Borders next to Best Buy. The first thing I ask if they have a limit on how many of each title you can buy. A BIG FAT NO! People in bookstores are so much nicer that electronics stores. So the girls/ladies helped me out and were very, very, very nice and I was very, very, very nice back. One funny thing that one of them said was, "Next year when we compare the 2005 sales against the 2004 sales for this date, we're going to have a hard time explaining why they are so different." And I said, "Blame it on the MA's." She also heard me say, "I love you" to Gilly when I was saying goodbye and she commented on how lovely that was. AAAHHHHH. Plus she mentioned how surprisingly calm I was given the situation. That's what getting older will do to you or at least it's done it to me. Now for your enjoyment this is a list of what I need to carry into work tomorrow and what I need to expense ASAP... 29 - Kill Bill Vol. 1 22 - Lost In Translation 6 - School of Rock 5 - Bad Boys II 4 - Charlie's Angels Full Throttle 4 - Bruce Almighty 3 - Bringing Down the House 2 - The Matrix: Reloaded = $1,782.16 And a very large rolling bag that I need to carry into the city tomorrow. posted by JustKeepMum on 10:13 PM |
