New Year's Eve and it's hard to believe
another zodiac has gone around.

While you drank yourself high on hoping
and watched the ceiling spin from the ground.

Counting down from ten it's time
to make your annual prayer.

Secret santa in the sky
when will I get my share?

Then you tell yourself
what you want to hear.

Cause you have to believe.

This will be my year.

This will be my year...Semisonic

Soooo, very tired...please excuse me for the mispelled words and such...I am very very tired.

I just watched three hours of True Life: I Want A Famous Face (TiVoed so not so long), one episode of The Swan and one episode of The Real World. And I have to tell you if you want to squash your self esteem that Swan show will do it for you. True Life will just make you sad and RW San Diego will just make you laugh.

Speaking of funny...I got a postcard from China from our intern from this summer. More froms anyone??? She's on one of those semesters at sea (exactly the program they did one season on Road Rules)...well she sent me a postcard with the great wall of China on it...she's trying to stay on our radar in hopes of a future reference/job I am sure. So what are some of the hightlights of her travels through Asia? And I quote, "Late nights, cheap foot massages, bootleg DVD's and knock offs of designer bags..." Oh, youth, culture and their parent's wealth is quite wasted on college students with subsidized incomes.

Well our little intern had a bit of downloading habit which appears to be the norm with her peer group and I used to give her my anti downloading speech...having had experience at a couple of labels and having done some concert promotion myself, I know exactly who's getting the shaft when people steal music. You're not just keeping perfectly white coke out of some ego maniac with a guitars nose your giving the shaft to every single person involved in the creation of that music/album/cd. The guy who works in the studio, the security guard who works at the label headquarters, the artist who created the artwork, the guy in the factory who runs the machine that shrink wraps the cd, the delivery girl who drops the shipments, the poor little struggling college student working the till at your local music store and my list could go on and on.

Well I almost died when she told me last summer that her sister had gotten a supoena for stealing music! Apparently our doll intern had been downloading music onto her sister's computer all summer while staying with her in NYC. I thought it was hysterical. You know that I said, "I told you so!" several times...tee hee...her sister was pissed to say the least. Our intern thought that it was all smoke and mirrors and nothing would ever come of it.

I used this supoena story to scare one of Gilly's co-workers straight something of which I am quite proud...

Well apparently something came the little court action. The little postcard from China informed me that they tried to sue her sister for $5,000 and ended up settling out of court for $3,500!

KARMA...You know I've always bought copies of my Fountains of Wayne CDs even though I've always gotten free comps.
