New Year's Eve and it's hard to believe
another zodiac has gone around.

While you drank yourself high on hoping
and watched the ceiling spin from the ground.

Counting down from ten it's time
to make your annual prayer.

Secret santa in the sky
when will I get my share?

Then you tell yourself
what you want to hear.

Cause you have to believe.

This will be my year.

This will be my year...Semisonic

4. New Artist: Evanescence; 50 Cent; Fountains of Wayne; Heather Headley; Sean Paul.
I agree with them. What with all the hoopla about this being hip-hop's year and such and what with how everyone's been wetting their pants about him for the past year or so it makes sense that he'd win. But I think of the all the nominees Fountains of Wayne are inherrently more talented.

Okay this should be a no brainer. Fountains of Wayne have a much more unique sound than any of the other nominees. Or at least they have a sound that hasn't been pounded into our heads for the last 10-20 years. Does Gwen really cut through the clutter anymore? I think Rob Thomas is an over rated song writer but more to the point all his songs sound the SAME. Bon Jovi? PUH LEEZ...and the Eagles...well they just are so irrelevant at this point it's irrelevant to even discuss them. The bottom line is that all the other nominated bands have been releasing the
The Star-Ledger lists their preference as Fountains of Wayne but their prediction as Fifty Cent. I have to say that same song since their first albums came out. Harumph.

P.S. If Outcast doesn't win Album of the Year, well that's just wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
