New Year's Eve and it's hard to believe
another zodiac has gone around.

While you drank yourself high on hoping
and watched the ceiling spin from the ground.

Counting down from ten it's time
to make your annual prayer.

Secret santa in the sky
when will I get my share?

Then you tell yourself
what you want to hear.

Cause you have to believe.

This will be my year.

Dear Mr. ****,

As per our conversation on Friday, January 23, I am following up on the incident which I related to you.

On Thursday, January 22nd at 7:50PM I received a phone call from Seton Hall University as illustrated by my Caller ID. I assumed that it was soliciation for a donation and having just gotten home from work I was rather irritated to be disturbed during dinner with my husband. I picked up the phone and laughingly said, "No thank you- we went to Harvard." I then hung up.

The following morning I arrived at work and had a voicemail time stamped 7:55PM. The content of the voicemail was as follows, "Bitch you know you didn't go to Harvard."

This message was quite obviously left by the person who had called Thurday evening.

Needless to say I found it frightening and disturbing for many reasons. It was obscene and the tone was threatening. I am also uncomfortable with the fact that an individual of such dubious character would have access to my
personal information and not hesitate to use it.

More importantly, I am saddened and embarrassed that such an individual is representing Seton Hall University, a school which up to this point I had been very proud of attending. In order to protect my family from further annoyances please remove both myself and my husband from any of your solication lists. That information is as follows: ....and/or .... and ....

I would greatly appreciate being informed as to what steps you have taken to rectify this situation and to assure that no other alumni be subjected to such offensive behavior.

Thank you for the consideration that you have exhibited,

Me myself and I
Class of 1997

...,

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention via the phone last week and for the follow-up email.

I apologize for the horrible behavior displayed by the student caller. The Seton Hall University Hall Calls program has been a part of Seton Hall for over 10 years. All of the student callers go through a rigorous training program and are properly screened before hiring. Out of hundreds of applicants we only accept the top 30 for our program. This type of situation is extremely rare.

When something of this nature occurs, we do not take it lightly. I am saddened by the behavior of this student and that it involved a loyal alumnus like yourself.

Please know that I have adjusted you and your husbands records. You will no longer receive any solicitation phone calls. I have spoken with our phonathon manager, .... and we both reviewed the calling records for that evening. We have identified the student we believe to have made the call and our conducting an investigation into the matter. Needless to say this type of behavior is unacceptable and the student will be dealt with accordingly.

Once again, I am truly sorry that this has happened and please feel free to contact me if I can be of any service in the future.

Sincerely,

... '97
