Little Squaw: Where a good girl goes to rant.
Long time no Squaw. Sunday, November 16, 2003IMPORTANT - Camlock screws must be fully tightened using a Phillips screwdriver to insure proper assembly and stability of this item.First of all, I was quite frightened that we weren't going to make it to church today. Really because I made mention of it in my other posts and well I'd look like a hypocrite if we didn't go, now wouldn't I? We managed to make it in (we're back on a roll...we fell of the wagon last week)...anyway it was packed because it's one of the days that they do Christenings. Must have been the karma of buying a skirt for GS's Christening (how I'll refer to my future God Son, son of Gertie brother of none)...Apparently, according to Gertie, I am not allowed to sport my normal formal togs...primarily of black, something about the celebration of life and light and joy...so with Gert's input I bought a very cute skirt which smacks of Daisy's dresses in the Great Gatsby...all I need are a pair of spectator pumps to totally make it period... However, today there were a lot of people wearing black! Hmmm, me thinks Gertie doth maketh her own rules...to make matters worse, when I walked into church it occurred to me that I had left eggs boiling on low on the GAS stove...I told Gil that the house was going to burn down...he pretended not to be nervous. I spent the whole mass listening for fire trucks. The problem being that the trucks would have gone to our house from a completely different direction and unless it was a HUGE fire no trucks would pass the church...as we drove home I said, "Well there isn't any smoke." and Gil responded, "They probably put it out already." Such support. When we got to the house there was no fire but I've never seen burned hard boiled eggs before! Ugh Ick and all that. Before we went to the roller death derby, um sorry, I mean the grocery store, we went to pick up a book Gil wanted and I wanted to pick up a Saves the Day CD...it's no wonder nobody buys music any more...nobody stocks the right stuff...I also wanted to buy a Sugar CD and a Jayhawks CD...which the store did not have. My Sugar and Jayhawks urge was sparked by, now this is getting difficult, I feel I need to come up with aliases for everyone I know because I don't want anyone to feel like I am calling them out onto the carpet, but how the hell am I supposed to keep track of everyone? Okay, it was sparked by a new friend (I'll ask him if I should use his name) sending me some CD's from his "bands." Multiple bands. I don't know how he does it...anyway...a couple of which reminded me of the Jayhawks and Sugar. I ended up buying the following CD's used from Coconuts...which was right next door to the bookstore...who knew they were selling used CD's now? AND who in their right mind would sell these albums out of their collection? Tomorrow the Green - The Jayhawks File Under Easy Listening - Sugar Copper Blue - Sugar Through Being Cool - Saves the Day (actually not used but cheap) Can't Slow Down - Saves the Day Of course neither of the Saves the Day CD's had the song I love on it (I'm not used to being in music stores anymore I guess and it all kind of went to my head)...Plus you know what? I realized that I've seen them live before which I had totally forgotten...We saw them open for Weezer not too long ago, apparently they are from Jersey...the CD's I got are well, juvenile to say the least...I won't vouch for them to anymore until I get the CD I really wanted to see if it sucks or not. Jay Hawks and Sugar...Exactly what I was looking for. My brother had these CD's when they first came out and I used to listen to them a lot. Gil got a Pantera CD titled, Vulgar Display of Power...how different we are... I am going to eat chocolate now. posted by JustKeepMum on 8:42 PM | ||
